Mrs Carmee Lim, Board Chairman

Mrs Carmee Lim is a firm believer in music and movement being an integral part of brain development and vitality. She is also a champion of using technology to enable access to music and education for all.

Her illustrious career includes being Principal of Raffles Girls School, the Mentor Principal of MindChamps Holdings, Founder and Chief Education Officer of Jumpstart Kidsports, as well as the Founder of Aoede Music Enterprise. She is committed to making a positive and significant difference in the way people learn.

With her role as Chairman of I’m Soul Inc, she lends her vast experience in education, music and technology to a cause that is dear to her heart, enabling everyone to access and create music for healing and joy. In her free time, Carmee composes and arranges music, and plays the piano and drums. She also enjoys tennis, golf, oil painting, dance, Pilates, and to top it off, Carmee is also a practicing gymnast and certified Aerobics Instructor.

Carmee has an B Sc. M Ed (Early Childhood Education), and is a grandmother of eight.

When in the UK in 2013, Michelle discovered the power of Assistive Music Technology to transform the lives of people with disabilities, and knew she had found her calling. Her own life experiences – a father disabled by a stroke and being a single mother to three girls – provided the drive and empathy for the cause.

Michelle has 30 years of experience heading business strategy and organizational development, in both the public and private sectors. For her contributions to innovation and excellence, she was awarded Outstanding Activist by the Singapore Public Service Commission in 2012. She has a business degree from Victoria University, New Zealand and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She loves family, reading, music and dance, and is delighted to be able to combine her personal interests and cause.

Ms Janet Tan-Collis, Board Director

As Chief Executive of East West Planners, current President for SACEOS (Singapore Association for Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers) and having held key positions with various companies, Janet is a well-known personality in the MICE industry.

She aims to bring her more than 30 years of experience and network to make a difference to the lives of people with special needs, and to instill the corporate social responsibility spirit within the MICE industry and the larger community. Janet has won numerous accolades for herself and her company: the prestigious DOM Benedictine Working Mother of the Year Award 1990, Travel Personality of the Year for Asia Pacific at the EIBTM Show, Switzerland 1995 and many Singapore and international travel awards. While committed to her work, she firmly believes in work-life balance and spends much of her leisure time with her family and visiting different countries.

portrait_leoMr Leo Chen Ian, Board Director

Leo Chen Ian was amazed by the power of music technology in 2014. With no musical background and having cerebral palsy, he was enabled to perform music on stage. He joined I’m Soul Inc in 2015 to spread this power to others. As the Founder and Director of Insight N Access, he brings more than 10 years of experience and a personal approach to help his clients achieve maximum impact in a sustainable manner in philanthropy. Ian serves on the Board of the National Council for Social Service.

He represented Singapore in sailing for the Athens Paralympics in 2004. He was also the youngest Singaporean to do a solo kayaking expedition around Singapore in 1992 and in 1993, he became the first Singaporean to circumnavigate Batam, Indonesia, raising S$150,000. In 1992, he received the Guinness Stout Effort Award 1992 for his fundraising effort and adventuring endeavors. In 1998, he received the Special Awards, a National Youth Achievement Award.

Ian graduated from the NUS with a BSc (Hons) and spent five years in academia specializing in life sciences (Molecular Developmental Biology).
